Lindsay Rich Steinmetz

A zealous and compassionate client advocate, Lindsay leverages her extensive industry knowledge and hardworking nature when representing clients in environmental law matters. Her broad practice includes providing counsel on:

  • Clean Air Act (CAA)
  • Clean Water Act (CWA)
  • Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA)
  • Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)
  • Environmental components of real estate and business transactions

Before entering private practice, Lindsay served as an Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where she was responsible for an administrative and judicial caseload of enforcement actions under the CAA and its associated regulations. This included primary responsibility for a CAA enforcement settlement against the Evonik Corporation, who was required to pay a civil penalty of $75,000 and to reduce its hazardous emissions by over five tons per year, in addition to spending at least $335,000 to facilitate emission reductions facility wide. In recognition of this significant win, Lindsay was awarded a bronze medal by the U.S. EPA.

Lindsay earned her J.D. and Degree in Comparative Law (D.C.L) from Louisiana State University and holds a B.S. in Communications from Eastern Michigan University. Active in the legal community, she is a member of the Environmental Section of the Ohio State Bar Association and serves as the Special Events Chair of the Toledo Women's Bar Association.

Outside of the office, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, traveling, being outdoors, and going to concerts/music festivals.
