In more than 20 years of legal practice, Stefan has developed extensive knowledge and experience in two distinct areas of the law: land use and assisted reproductive technology. He began his career as a land use planner and developed a second sphere of legal practice in surrogacy after navigating the complexities in growing his own family. He has successfully litigated highly contested cases in both U.S. federal court and state court.
Throughout his career, Stefan has:
- Assisted developers with the permitting process and incorporating the enforcement rights of creditors' distressed assets
- Represented clients in rezonings, variances, wet zonings/liquor license permitting, Comprehensive Plan Amendments, Developments of Regional Impact, environmental permitting, and eminent domain
- Negotiated loan workouts and liquidate distressed assets, including foreclosure, bankruptcy, and debt collection
- Assisted clients in navigating the legal complexities surrounding surrogacy, including drafting surrogacy contracts
Born and raised in Germany, Stefan enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his husband and twin boys, who were born via surrogacy.
