A senior paralegal in our Toledo office since 2006, Abbey focuses her work in the Environmental and Immigration practice groups. She has also taken part in matters involving the Litigation and Corporate groups.
Abbey has extensive database management skills involving substantial document intensive litigation. She has participated in trial preparation involving an asset purchase and sale agreement for a multi-million dollar environmental litigation and taken part in a multimillion dollar environmental litigation jury trial regarding the Clean Water Act. She has also been part of the legal team involved in the application process for a new source review/prevention of significant deterioration permit-to-install for a heat recovery coke facility in Ohio, and has assisted with many other industry and steel/coke industry matters at both the state and federal level. Abbey also assists employers in obtaining temporary and permanent visas for skilled foreign workers, primarily in the form of L-1 and H-1B visas, and then encompassing the families of the foreign workers into the petitions to later obtain permanent residency based on employment.
