Amy J. Schaffer

Paralegal

An Advanced Certified Paralegal in Civil Litigation and a Florida Registered Paralegal, Amy has extensive experience working in civil litigation. Her past experience has been in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, health care law, product liability, and antitrust law.

With extensive trial experience, Amy has assisted with more than 100 trials in her 40+ years as a paralegal. She has participated in cases being tried in many of the 67 counties in Florida and the Middle District of Florida. Amy has also worked on appeals for the Second District Court of Appeal and the Eleventh Circuit.  

Amy started her paralegal career as a law librarian, working for a local firm and for the Sarasota County Law Library. She has been associated with both defense and plaintiff firms over the course of her career. This legal background makes her excel at research, writing, and investigation work which are necessary in litigation cases.

She has resided in Sarasota for most of her life and participates in many social and professional organizations within the county and the state.   

Outside of work time, Amy is devoted to eldercare financial issues, often writing their bills, checking in on them, and really just being a friend. Her ultimate joy is being home with her sisters and animals. She enjoys camping, reading, board games, and spending time at their home and farm in the eastern part of Sarasota.
