Barbara has more than three decades of experience in the legal industry. A Florida Registered Paralegal, she assists the Real Estate, Construction & Development Service Line with all aspects of real estate law. She has extensive experience working in the commercial real estate field in Florida, including condominium development, construction, loans, and purchase and sale transactions.
Barbara is proficient in all areas of commercial real estate transactions, including reviewing contracts, creating critical date timelines, preparing closing and loan documents (including closing statements), ordering and reviewing of due diligence materials (including municipal lien searches), title and survey review, e-recording, disbursement of closing proceeds, and issuance of title insurance policies.
A highly active member of paralegal professional organizations, Moira serves in:
- The Tampa Bay Paralegal Association, where she has held all positions on the Board of Directors, including president and, most recently, board advisor
- The TBPA's Seminar and Pro Bono subcommittees
- The TBPA's Community Service committees, whose projects include coordinating its annual seminar and serving philanthropies such as Wills for Heroes, PACE Center for Girls, End 68 Hours of Hunger, and the USO-Central Florida
- The National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA), where she has served as a delegate at several annual conventions. From 2015-2016, Barbara was also the Region III Director on the Board of Directors for NFPA
- The Paralegal Advisory Council of Attorney’s Title Fund Services, participating in quarterly meetings related to topics of interest affecting the real estate and title industry
Barbara enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband of over 35 years, three adult children, and two grandsons. She also enjoys playing Texas Hold'Em poker, traveling (especially to Las Vegas to play poker), going to the beach, watching movies, reading books, and relaxing in her backyard oasis by watching her koi swim around in their pond.
