A paralegal in the Intellectual Property and Technology Service Line in the Charlotte office, Cecilia has extensive experience in:

- Filing documents with the U.S. District and Appellate Courts
- Maintaining a litigation docket pursuant to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Local Rules of the U.S. District and Appellate Courts

She also has experience in patent and trademark prosecution before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, along with a prior background in civil litigation.
Cecilia’s prior work experience as a professor’s assistant at Harvard Law School initially whet her appetite for the law. Her next position, in a law firm, allowed her to offer support in business litigation, insurance litigation, intellectual property prosecution, and intellectual property litigation. After joining Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, she has become senior paralegal and concentrates solely on IP litigation. She now has extensive experience in district court filings and cases in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Florida, California, Texas, New York, Colorado and Georgia.
When not helping others at work, Cecilia supports the local Special Olympics program whenever possible. She also enjoys dabbling in cooking, antiquing, traveling, and she is an avid reader.
