Mary L. Ward

Paralegal

Mary draws on a broad array of experience to help clients handle their loved ones’ affairs. She is a paralegal in the Wealth Strategies Service Line of Shumaker’s Sarasota office, where she works primarily on trust and estate, estate administration, and probate matters.

Mary served in the U.S. Army as a legal specialist with training at Fort Benjamin Harrison near Indianapolis and subsequent service at Camp Casey, Korea and Fort Meade, Maryland. After being honorably discharged, she worked in the Pentagon in the research and development section of the Legislative Liaison Department. Mary later moved to Florida and has worked as a probate paralegal ever since.  She loves to sculpt and has participated in many art fairs in the area and also painted murals up and down the coast.  Recently, she became interested in the needs of Florida's senior population and became a professional guardian.

Outside of work, Mary likes running, creating art, spending time with her pets, enjoying the outdoors with her friends, and working on vintage vehicles with her son. She feels blessed to live near the beautiful shores of the Sarasota beaches.
