Shumaker Advisors Helps Secure $3.96 Million in Infrastructure Funding for Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, FL — Shumaker Advisors played a key role in securing state funding for Jackson County to support critical infrastructure improvements and local economic growth. The $3.96 million investment will help encourage job creation, attract private investment, and strengthen the county's rural economy.

The funding will support two projects: $1.99 million to construct an access road and supporting utilities for the 300-acre Endeavor Industrial Park and $1.97 million to develop an RV park and campground at Blue Springs Recreational Area, expanding the county's tourism and recreational offerings.

The award is part of approximately $27 million distributed through Florida's Rural Infrastructure Fund to support critical infrastructure improvements and economic development initiatives in 14 rural Florida communities.

Alan Suskey, Executive Vice President and Principal of State Practice at Shumaker Advisors, worked with the county to advance its funding priorities and help move these important infrastructure and economic development projects forward. During the last legislative session, Shumaker Advisors also secured $875,000 for fire rescue station hardening.

"Investments like this are important to the long-term success of rural communities like Jackson County. By improving access to industrial sites and expanding tourism opportunities, these projects can help attract private investment, create jobs, and strengthen the local economy. We're proud to work alongside local leaders to help advance initiatives that deliver meaningful, lasting benefits for the community," said Alan.

The Endeavor Industrial Park project will provide infrastructure needed to support future industrial development, while the Blue Springs project will expand recreational opportunities and help attract more visitors to Jackson County. Together, the projects represent an investment in the infrastructure and amenities that can bring businesses, visitors, and additional economic activity to the region.

Jackson County's award is part of a broader investment in the Florida Panhandle, where eight communities and counties will receive approximately $18.5 million for projects involving roadways, water and wastewater infrastructure, health care facilities, industrial development, and tourism.
