Shumaker Advisors Strengthens Florida Government Affairs Team with Addition of Rick Lindstrom as Principal

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Shumaker Advisors continues to strengthen its Florida government affairs and public policy capabilities with the addition of Rick Lindstrom as Principal in the firm's Tallahassee office. A registered professional lobbyist with more than 20 years of experience in government relations, Rick has advised clients on complex legislative, regulatory, budget, and public policy matters before the Florida Legislature, Cabinet, state agencies, and local governments.

Throughout his career, Rick has represented clients across a diverse range of industries and policy areas, including environmental matters, criminal justice, aerospace and technology, sports, health care, and medical cannabis. His work has included developing and advancing legislative and budget priorities, helping clients navigate changing regulatory and political environments, managing complex governmental strategies, and building support around significant policy initiatives.

That breadth of experience has given Rick the ability to quickly understand complicated industries and issues and translate clients' business and organizational objectives into effective government affairs strategies.

"Shumaker Advisors has built a sophisticated platform at the intersection of government, business, law, and public policy, and I am excited to become part of the team," said Rick. "The most effective government affairs work begins with understanding a client's underlying objectives and then developing a strategy that brings together policy expertise, strong relationships, sound judgment, and effective advocacy. I look forward to working with our clients to anticipate change, identify opportunities, solve difficult problems, and achieve meaningful results."

Rick's addition reflects the continued expansion of Shumaker Advisors' capabilities across Florida and Washington, D.C., as the firm builds an increasingly integrated team serving clients at the local, state, and federal levels.

Earlier this year, former St. Petersburg Councilman Ed Montanari joined the firm's St. Petersburg office as Principal, Sean Schrader joined the Tampa office as Director of Operations, and Jodie Moxley-Ramos joined the Washington, D.C. Federal Team as Vice President of Federal Affairs. Together, these additions further strengthen Shumaker Advisors' ability to help clients navigate governmental, legislative, regulatory, and public affairs challenges across multiple jurisdictions.

"Rick represents exactly the kind of professional we want to continue attracting to Shumaker Advisors," said Ron Christaldi, Shumaker Partner and President/CEO of Shumaker Advisors Florida, LLC. "He brings deep substantive experience, longstanding relationships, sound judgment, and an ability to understand complicated issues and develop strategies that advance a client's objectives."

"Our goal is to build the premier team of exceptional professionals who are trusted by clients and respected by policymakers and government leaders," Ron continued. "Rick's addition further strengthens our ability to bring together government affairs, public policy, public affairs, business insight, and the broader resources of Shumaker to help clients address significant challenges and opportunities throughout Florida and beyond."

Shumaker Advisors' continued growth has also earned industry recognition. Florida Politics named the firm a Top 20 Florida Lobbying Firm in 2025, reflecting the increasing strength and impact of its government relations practice.
