TAMPA, FL – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Tampa Partner Greg Yadley was quoted by SEC commissioner Hester M. Pierce at the SEC-sponsored Virtual Small Business Forum. The Commissioner, speaking on the need for more clarity on finders, particularly under current circumstances, quoted Greg’s explanation of the topic from the last Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee meeting. Greg explained, “Particularly these days, where companies are going to become even more desperate for money and we are loosening up so many ways for people to be able to raise money, there is still a disconnect between issuers who need a little bit of money and accredited investors who are willing to invest. But how do they find one another?”
Greg was named as an inaugural member of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee last year. The Committee is designed to provide a formal mechanism for the Commission to receive advice and recommendations on Commission rules, regulations and policy matters relating to small businesses, including smaller public companies. The Committee replaced the Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies, whose term expired in 2017. Greg also was a member of that predecessor advisory committee.
