He will serve a three-year term on the volunteer board, which oversees management and fiduciary responsibility for the Pines of Sarasota.

“Our mission at Pines of Sarasota is to provide excellent and compassionate health care for seniors, caring for those who can no longer care for themselves,” said Mike Ward, President and CEO of the Pines of Sarasota. “With the increased focus in health care on technology, we welcome Doug’s depth of legal experience in this field, and we are pleased to welcome him to our Board of Directors.”

The Pines of Sarasota is a nonprofit organization, which offers individuals a fulfilling life in a rehabilitation and senior care community that satisfies residents’ health and lifestyle needs, all with the confidence of knowing they will always be secure, well-cared for, and welcomed.

“As baby boomers are reaching retirement age, rehabilitation services and elder care have become increasingly relevant, and I am proud to join some of our community’s most dedicated civic leaders to help support the mission of the Pines of Sarasota and the larger community it serves,” said Doug. “Not many in our community are familiar with just how broad their mission is and that it includes a year round child care and learning center for infants through pre k, including VPK, as well as community outreach and certified nursing assistant education. I am excited to have the opportunity to assist with these programs.”
