Kennedy T. DeSilvis

Paralegal

A paralegal in Shumaker's Litigation & Disputes Service Line, Kennedy assists the Claims Management team in delivering strategic support for complex litigation, with a focus on asbestos-related matters. She analyzes case trends, resolution histories, and jurisdictional patterns to provide actionable insights to the firm's insurance recovery group.

Kennedy's practice also includes claim intake, processing, and recording, as well as in-depth review of pleadings, discovery, and settlement data—both historic and active. She investigates complex corporate histories and identifies liabilities to support client needs. In this role, Kennedy helps identify key information and ensures clients have access to a comprehensive, searchable database that supports informed decision making.

Kennedy earned her bachelor's degree in paralegal studies from The University of Toledo, graduating summa cum laude. During her academic and early professional career, she developed a strong foundation in legal research and writing that she leverages on behalf of clients and colleagues alike. Kennedy initially worked in probate and estate planning law before transitioning to litigation and looks forward to continuing building her practice in this area.

Outside of work, Kennedy enjoys exploring nature and traveling with her husband and their two golden retrievers. She's passionate about art, writing, music, and has a lifelong love for animals.
