Tom's practice includes acting as outside general counsel for small- and medium-sized businesses. He has substantial experience in obtaining injunctive relief to prevent unfair competition and the unauthorized disclosure of trade secrets. Tom is the former Managing Partner of the Toledo office and former Chairman of the firm’s Management Committee.

Tom is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, an honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Tom also is a member of Legatus, a membership organization for Catholic business leaders committed to learn, live, and spread the Catholic faith.
