Thorough and insightful in her work, Abby is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Disputes Service Line, where she handles a wide variety of issues, including product liability disputes, and construction and business litigation, just to name a few. Clients benefit from Abby’s unique perspective and experience from her work prior to joining Shumaker, practicing on the plaintiff’s side of construction defect litigation, representing homeowners, homeowners' associations (HOAs), and developers in actions against contractors for defective construction. This experience allows her to understand all sides of such disputes.
While in law school, Abby clerked for a small family law practice, interned at an Athletic Department, served as research assistant for several professors, and worked in the legal department of a financial company specializing in servicing consumer and international consumer debt portfolios. Abby is currently a member of the Charleston County Bar’s Wellness Committee and serves as an Appellate Defender with the South Carolina Commission on Indigent Defense.
When Abby is away from work, she enjoys cooking and exploring all that Charlotte has to offer.
