Efficient and detail-oriented in her work, Andrea works with Taft-Hartley multiemployer and single employer ERISA benefit plans. As a Paralegal Benefits Specialist in Shumaker’s Benefits Service Line, she drafts and reviews plan documents and agreements, including:

  • Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions and amendments
  • Summary of material modifications
  • Administrative services agreements
  • Plan consulting agreements
  • Auditing services agreements
  • Pharmacy benefit management agreements
  • Provider network agreements
  • Investment management agreements
  • Investment subscription documents
  • Participation agreements

In addition, Andrea regularly assists clients with compliance matters including preparing and managing annual notices for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA), Summary of Benefits and Coverage; Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) fee, and Annual Funding and Medicare Part D.

Andrea is responsible for preparing, compiling, and tracking documents for Board of Trustee meetings, attending meetings to record actions taken by the Board, and drafting Trustee meeting minutes.

Prior to joining Shumaker, Andrea worked for another large national law firm as a Paralegal in their Employee Benefits practice group.

In her personal time Andrea enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and scuba diving.
