Austin concentrates his practice on representing public and private companies in a broad range of corporate and securities law matters, oftentimes in the role of outside general counsel. He regularly counsels shippers, brokers, and logistics companies in the transportation and distribution industry, as well as clients in manufacturing, automotive, commercial banking and finance, and professional services.
Austin's practice has a particular emphasis on complex business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, equity and debt financing transactions, recapitalizations, executive employment and equity incentive arrangements, and joint ventures.
In addition to his transaction practice, Austin also regularly counsels public and private companies through commercial disputes and oversees litigation in close partnership with his clients and the firm's litigation team.
Outside his client work, Austin is a former Co-Chair of the firm's Transportation & Logistics Industry Sector and works on a variety of firm committees related to, among other matters, finance and business development.
