Thomas F. McDonnell, Jr.

Partner

Thomas is a corporate transactional attorney who advises private equity sponsors, family-owned businesses, and financial services clients on complex transactions and general corporate matters.

Thomas maintains a broad corporate practice anchored in middle-market M&A, where he regularly represents private equity sponsors in platform acquisitions and add-on investments, and counsels founders and family-owned businesses through ownership transitions and exit events. He also advises registered investment advisers and broker-dealers on regulatory, transactional, and operational matters, and regularly counsels clients on day-to-day matters ranging from entity formation and governance to commercial contracts and business disputes.

In addition to his M&A and advisory work, Thomas represents banks and institutional lenders in secured and unsecured credit facilities, as well as nonprofit corporations on formation, tax-exempt status, and ongoing governance and compliance matters.

Thomas was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and was the worst player on the Sickles High School basketball team for two consecutive years. His golf game is mediocre at best.
