Tommy McDonnell is a corporate transactional attorney representing clients in M&A, financing, and private market securities matters across a variety of industries. Tommy also serves as outside general counsel for many of his clients, handling matters ranging from entity formation, contract drafting, day-to-day operational issues, and business disputes.

Tommy also frequently represents nonprofit corporations in the Tampa Bay region, and currently serves on the Florida Bar Chapter 617 Task Force preparing reform legislation for Florida’s Not For Profit Corporations statute.

He also serves as a co-author of the Florida Bar’s Florida Corporate Practice manual, and has been named a Rising Star – Mergers & Acquisitions by Florida Super Lawyers.

Tommy received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. While in law school, Tommy was a Law Clerk for the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

Tommy currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, and on the Advisory Board of the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors (AM&AA) - Tampa Bay Chapter. Tommy also previously served on the Board of Directors of the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts.

Tommy was born and raised in Tampa, Florida, and was the worst player on the Sickles High School basketball team for two consecutive years. His golf game is mediocre at best.
